Chelmer were approached by a sustainable developer who were looking for a heating and hot water solution for their latest school building in Essex.

Owing to the large areas to be heated, underfloor heating was selected as the sole heating system for the project. The clients also wished to use the existing gas infrastructure on site provide heat for the heating and hot water systems.

Chelmer were asked to design and supply a renewable heating solution for a new Bursars Office at New Hall School in Essex.

The final system was comprised of an air source heat pump serving an appropriately designed underfloor heating system.

A joinery in Essex commissioned Chelmer to undertake the design and supply of an integrated heating system for their factory that ran on surplus wood generated by the plant.

The office and loading areas were heated by an underfloor heating system, whilst the factory floor was heated using blown air heaters.

The system is powered by a third-party 400kW wood chip boiler, with a gas boiler as a backup and external, frost protected heat dump for emergency use.
